Town of Kent USA 250 Celebration: July 3–4, 2026 Historic 250th Anniversary of American Independence
Schedule for the Two-Day Celebration:
Friday, July 3: Lights & Liberty Community Kickoff
The celebration begins with a Community Bell Ringing at 2:00 p.m. at the Eric Sloane Museum, followed by the signature Lights & Liberty Parade at 7:00 p.m., proceeding from Kent Town Hall to the Kent Volunteer Fire Department.
Residents, families, nonprofits, and businesses are invited to participate in the parade with illuminated floats, decorated vehicles, and creative displays celebrating American history, community pride, and Kent traditions.
The evening concludes with a community bonfire at the Kent Volunteer Fire Department. S’mores and lemonade will be provided and attendees will have their first opportunity to put their signature on the Town’s own Declaration of Independence, which will eventually hang next to the U.S. Constitution in the Town Hall.
