The Fourth of July in our corner of the Hudson Valley, NWCT, and Berkshires is something special. Whether you're staying close to home or willing to make a short drive, there's no shortage of ways to celebrate, from community parades to world-class live music to fireworks over the Hudson River. Here's where to be this July 4th.

Right Here at Home: Amenia Fire Company
Amenia Fire House, 36 Mechanic St, Amenia, NY | 5:00–9:00 PM
This one is pure community. The Amenia Fire Company is throwing a full Fourth of July celebration with a parade, carnival food, live music from The Crew Band, Touch-a-Truck, and arts and crafts from Amenia Rec. Fireworks cap the night at 9:00 PM.
Parade step-off is at 5:30 PM along Old Route 22, Route 22, Main Street, and Mechanic Street and anyone can join. Food includes burgers, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, fried dough, and more.

A View Like No Other: Walkway Over the Hudson
Poughkeepsie, NY | 6:00–9:30 PM
Imagine watching fireworks from 212 feet above the Hudson River — at eye level with the bursts. Friends of the Walkway opens the world's longest elevated pedestrian bridge exclusively to ticket holders for the City of Poughkeepsie's annual fireworks display, launching between 9:00–9:30 PM.
Tickets support Friends of the Walkway and go on sale in early June. Join their email list to be first to know.

Mountain Magic: Catamount 4th of July Celebration
Catamount Mountain Resort, Hillsdale, NY | All Day
Spend the whole day at Catamount with outdoor activities, family entertainment, food and drinks, then settle in as the sun goes down for a fireworks display lighting up the mountain sky. A classic summer day done right, supported by Herrington's.

America's 250th: Kent, CT Celebration
Town Hall Lawn, Kent, CT | 12:00–5:00 PM + Fireworks at Dusk
Kent is going all out for the USA's 250th birthday. The day includes a Community Declaration Signing and Flag Raising at noon, a public reading of the Declaration of Independence at 1:00 PM, and a town-wide Bell Ringing Across America at 2:00 PM. The Kent Lions Club will be serving food, and SoDelicious Bakery is providing a birthday cake for America.
Fireworks over Lake Waramaug at dusk close out the day beautifully.

An Iconic Berkshires Evening: Tanglewood Fireworks Spectacular
Tanglewood, Lenox, MA | Performance begins at 8:00 PM

Minor League, Major Fireworks: Hudson Valley Renegades vs Wilmington Blue Rocks
Wappingers Falls, NY | First pitch 7:05 PM
The Hudson Valley Renegades are hosting an Independence Day MEGA Fireworks Show after the game, celebrating the USA's 250th birthday presented by Central Hudson Gas & Electric. Live music from a local band and Kids Run the Bases round out the night.
